What is Boudoir?
Boudoir photography is a form of intimate portraiture designed to boost the confidence of your every day woman. For some people, their first thought may be that boudoir is about nudity and sex. Some may say it is even 'pornographic'. But I'm here to break down that perception and let you know that boudoir is about EMPOWERMENT. When I say the word 'intimate' in this context, I am referring to my client's feeling of intimacy with themselves. This is a way to re-connect with your body and feel beautiful. It absolutely doesn't need to involve nudity unless that is what makes you feel empowered. This style of photography combines elements of photography such as glamor lighting, artistic composition, and specific posing techniques that I will walk you through.

What would I have to wear? (If anything?)
Your comfort is the most important thing during a boudoir shoot. You can literally wear whatever makes you feel most empowered and beautiful. While boudoir is traditionally done in some kind of lingerie, it is not required. If you want to wrap up in a warm sweater - I can still make you look compelling, sexy and inviting. If you want to be completely nude, I can show you how to do it in the most tasteful way that won't make you feel like a porn star. Ultimately, it is up to you and the version of yourself you want to express in your shoot. You can always talk to me beforehand about your wardrobe if you are not sure!
Where would the shoot be?
I work out of my in-home studio! As I explain below the "FAQ" section, it keeps overhead costs low so that I can pass those savings on to you! See more info as well as a video tour of the home studio below.
Would my photos be kept private?
The privacy of my clients is of the utmost importance to me. All client's shown on this page have given explicit permission to share these photos for marketing purposes. You would be given the same option. If you choose to keep them private, no one but you will ever see them!
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely! If bringing along a friend or lover makes you feel more comfortable and safe, I am completely fine with that! Just make sure you bring someone you are 100% comfortable with so that you don't feel limited during your shoot. The Studio
I do realize it can seem strange to go to someone's home for a photoshoot as personal as this. However, by keeping my studio at home I avoid a ton of overhead costs and those savings trickle down to you! I am able to offer boudoir at a significantly discounted price from my competitors because I have no studio to pay for! That being said - I always keep my home at peak condition and during a photoshoot, absolutely no one will be in the house but you, me and whomever you decide to bring along. We have two bedrooms to work out of, both with different looks/lighting. As well as a beautiful sofa area with fluffy blankets. If you prefer a more upscale look rather than homey, I also have full studio equipment with backdrops and dramatic lighting. Take a look at the video to the right to learn more!
Couples Boudoir...
Don't want to do your photoshoot alone? Bring your partner! While gifting your partner some photos of yourself can make a wonderful anniversary/Valentines present, imagine doing the photoshoot WITH your partner. I know it may sound awkward at first, but I strive to make everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. I will start by asking the couple to snuggle and cuddle to get them comfortable in front of the camera and then I allow the couple to lead me from there. I will prompt them into more intimate poses as we go along and let them explore each others bodies slowly and intimately while I work to capture the moments in the most artistic and tasteful way possible. I encourage intimacy but note that I always want to keep a professional environment in my studio - therefore there is no FULL nudity during a couples session.
